An Honest Update

A very honest update with my Dreamers about shifting gears, pivoting our event lineup for 2027, and officially growing this into a true family adventure.

My Dearest Dreamers,

I made some big announcements a while back about expanding Ephemeral Dream Creations—opening our space to represent fellow creators and building a multi-artist collective rooted in the Fantastic Reality style. Stepping out to help lift up other local artists was an exciting moment, and the vision still holds a lot of magic for me.

Unfortunately, my excitement got a bit ahead of reality. I realized I had put so much care into building my home in the digital world that I hadn’t yet grown the strong, boots-on-the-ground local following needed to sustain a multi-artist roster. While I love and appreciate every single one of you who follows my work online, I need to take a step back, reset, and truly establish my own local foundation before I can bring others along with me. Fortunately, I hadn’t made any formal commitments outside of my own family.

Speaking of family—since they are already involved, invested, and excited, we’ve decided to evolve Ephemeral Dream Creations into a true family business, with each of us contributing our own art and skills. I’ll still be taking point with my digital paintings, digital presence, and event hosting. Betsy is driving our culinary creations alongside keeping our finances on track. Caliana and Alexi are each contributing their own art and helping out as they carve out their own creative paths within the brand. Shiara might still be a bit young for heavy lifting, but she’s the heart of the operation—acting as our official taste-tester and inspiring us all with her pure joy.

We’re also shifting our sights on where we share our work. I had originally planned to target traditional fine art fairs, galleries, and local small businesses. While we will still build partnerships with local shops (because mutual community support benefits everyone), let's be honest: my fans aren't traditional fine art snobs. We’re nerds of all shapes and sizes, with a deep love for fantasy, imagination, and shared passions.

So, we’re going where our people are. In 2027, I’m planning to exhibit at as many Renaissance fairs as I can sign up for, alongside local craft and artisan markets right here in and around West Branch.

Big changes are on the way as we shape Ephemeral Dream Creations into something amazing together. Even if we aren't building an empire overnight, we're going to have a lot of fun doing it, and this journey offers the kids incredible, hands-on lessons they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Usually, I’d end this by looping you into a grand collective vision, but today was more about owning my missteps, sharing how I'm course-correcting, and bringing you behind the curtain with us. I hope you’ll stick around as this dream continues to take shape in the real world.

With deepest regards,

David
